Oto-Awori LCDA Chairman, Prince Musibau Asafa, Passes Away After Illness
The Executive Chairman of Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area, Prince Musibau Adekunle Asafa, has passed away following a prolonged illness.
His death, which has plunged the LCDA into mourning, was formally announced on Saturday in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Bodunrin Ayodele, via the council’s official Facebook page. However, the specific date of his passing was not disclosed.
“Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area is in mourning following the passing of its Executive Chairman, Prince Musibau Adekunle Asafa," the statement read.
"Prince Asafa, a respected politician, leader, and dedicated public servant, succumbed to a prolonged illness, leaving behind a legacy of service and commitment to the people he served."
According to a family source, the late chairman battled illness for an extended period before his death, despite receiving medical care. His passing has left his family, friends, colleagues, and the broader community in deep sorrow.
As news of his death spreads, tributes are expected from community members, political allies, and government officials who worked closely with him. Many have described Prince Asafa as a leader devoted to grassroots development and the well-being of his constituents.

In a condolence message shared through the official social media pages of Somolu Local Government Area, its Executive Chairman, Abdul-Hamed Salawu, expressed sympathies to the people of Oto-Awori LCDA and the APC family.
