Lagos Housing Ministry Urges Ikorodu Estate Residents to Partner for Sustainable Living
The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Housing, Abdulhafis Toriola, has called on residents of state-owned housing estates in the Ikorodu area to actively engage and collaborate with the ministry in building a more sustainable and livable environment.
Toriola made this appeal during a community engagement forum held on Saturday at the Ayangbure Jubilee Housing Estate in Ikorodu, according to a statement released on Sunday.
The forum was designed to address pressing concerns within government-owned housing estates, including estate maintenance, security, infrastructure development, waste management, and environmental sustainability.
Highlighting the importance of resident involvement, Toriola expressed appreciation for the residents’ ongoing contributions, expertise, and commitment to maintaining their communities. He noted that the forum serves as a crucial platform for dialogue and joint action, aligning with the goals of the state’s THEMES+ development agenda.
Toriola emphasized that collective participation is key to enhancing the quality of life within government estates and ensuring that public housing initiatives meet the evolving needs of residents.
